How do I get my wordpress site indexed in Google?

I just started blogging on my own wordpress website but my articles are not showing up in google when I search for them. I know search engines have to index posts but it has been 3 days and none of my articles are in google as yet. Is there like a proper procedure to get a new website indexed or do I just wait?

Feedburner is very helpful when it comes to getting new content marked and indexed by search engines. Since it is owned by google, there is a good bet that it leans towards that search engine.

Indexing website on Google is as simple as piece of cake. Verify from Google Webmaster Tools and activate Google analytics on your account (which will help you monitor how much traffic are you getting from Google.com) After verification, ping your site using www.pingomatic.com tool.

Create a Google Account, then sign up for Webmaster Tools, it's FREE. Add your new site to Webmaster Tools, then go to Optimization > Sitemaps.

Submit your XML based sitemap to let Google know about the pages published on your site. This makes the crawling fast.

If possible, you can ask a friend or someone you know who has a site which is indexed very fast to give a link to your site. This way, when the bot comes to their site, it will automatically come crawling to you too.
