Tips for Getting a Cheap Air Ticket from India to UK

I am travelling for the first time from India to UK i.e. Delhi to London. Any tips on how I can get cheap airline tickets, I don't want a bouncy journey so will prefer either a direct flight or just one transit. Looking forward to tips that can save me some money :)

Tip 1 - Know when to buy and be flexable

The hardest part of booking a flight is knowing when to stop tracking fares and make that final purchase. If you're flying within the U.S. or to select international destinations, Bing Travel (Bing.com/travel) can help you reach that decision, offering fare predictions for most major cities. Just plug in your itinerary and the site will advise you either to book now or to wait, depending on whether the fare is expected to rise or drop. Check price comparison sites, which offers fare history graphs for domestic and international flights, allowing you to see whether your fare is headed in an upward or downward direction.

Tip 2 - Book your flight early to get cheap rates

Booking your flight early typically costs you less. For instance, if you have to fly in March, you can book your flight by mid January or February. As your departure date comes closer, you will have to shell out more for a ticket.

Tip 3 - Check Alternate Airports

You can check for alternate airports sometimes the rates vary upon the landing destinations as well.

Tip 4 - At Least 45 Days Earlier or Try Last Minute Flight services

Usually I've observed flight rates are bit cheaper 45 days earlier or at the last minute even you can find plenty of sites offering last minute flight rates which are comparatively cheap but its risky as sometimes you might not get a seat on the desired flight if its completely sold out.

Tip 5 - Check Airline Facebook and Twitter Pages for Special Deals

Most airlines blast out limited time special deals through their social media channels. Since you will be preparing to fly, start following these pages now and jump on any deal you find suitable. Such deals generally go out very quickly, so if you see something you like, pick it up fast.

Tip 6 - Book an early morning flight, they are usually cheaper

Early morning flights are cheaper because airlines want to get as many people on board as possible. Avoid peak time flights and try to get up early according your own local time for the flight.
