For example, THERE are around 10 million smokers in the UK, and around 100,000 people die every year from smoking-related causes. If you've been thinking about stubbing out for the last time, now might be just the time.

Most countries have No Smoking Days but yet people still smoke away.

British Heart Foundation is asking all smokers out there to quit for the day on Wednesday March 9th. This campaign has annually targeted those thinking about kicking the habit since 1983, and since the launch more than 30 years ago there are now one million less smokers in the UK.

There are huge benefits to kicking the habit. Your breathing will improve and you would have more energy; your risk of cancer is dramatically reduced and you will look healthier with clearer skin and whiter teeth. Quitting is also good for your mental health, as smoking has been proven to increase anxiety and symptoms of depression.

But the real way to stop is by listening to real people who have done it. They may be from all aspect of life but they have done it. If you know how you or someone has stopped smoking, please add it in the tips below.
